The South Texas Sports Festival began in 2005. As word spread to AAU members in other sports, the idea began to grow like wildfire.

In it's first year the Sports Festival included four sports and over 4,000 competing athletes! In 2006, there were five sports with over 5,000 participants.

We will continue developing a Sports Festival program that will empower, enlighten, and engage more athletes in health and fitness, academics, character building, and leadership skills than ever before and promote more opportunities for all amateur athletes in Texas.

This year's Sports Festival has been awarded to Brownsville, Texas and surrounding areas. Listed below are the proposed events that will be conducted.

Boys Basketball. Soccer. Cheerleading.
Track and Field.
Softball
AAU Urban Dance. Volleyball. Swimming/Diving
