 CHARITABLE DONATIONS
The STAAU has a 50-year history of providing sport and fitness opportunities to the sports enthusiasts of all ages. During the 2004 fiscal year 4.7 million men, women, boys and girls have participated in sporting and fitness programs administered by the AAU. From the STAAU’s District Programs to National Championships, from the AAU Sullivan Award to the AAU Junior Olympic Games, from the President's Challenge to the Complete Athlete Program, our organization prides itself on participation, education, and recognition.
Four Ways to Participate:
1. A SUSTAINING GIFT assists the AAU with the necessary resources to provide athletic opportunities to our members.
2. A TRIBUTE GIFT provides the opportunity to recognize the outstanding work of your favorite coach, volunteer, official, grandma, grandpa, fireman, pastor, or special person while supporting the programs of the AAU.
3. A MEMORIAL GIFT is a personal remembrance that honors the life of a friend, relative, athlete or volunteer with a gift of love and hope. As you honor those who have lived a full life, you are also assisting those who are just beginning theirs.
4. A DESIGNATED GIFT is $5,000.00 or more.

The Internal Revenue Service issued a determination letter dated January 1966 which recognizes the Amateur Athletic Union of the United States, Inc. as exempt from Federal income tax under Internal Revenue Code section 501 (c) (3)
The I.R.S. has stated that donors may deduct contributions to the AAU as provided in section 170 of the Internal Revenue Code.
