STAAU EVENT OPERATORS WANTED
THE STAAU'S GOAL IS TO EXPAND THE RECREATIONAL
AND COMPETITIVE OPPORTUNITIES FOR AMERICA'S ATHLETES. THE STAAU IS
LOOKING FOR EVENT OPERATORS TO FULFILL ITS MOTTO:

It can be extremely difficult and expensive to obtain insurance coverage for amateur athletic competitions. As an event operator if insurance is not obtained the personal assets of the individuals conducting the event are at risk. See insurance on our AAU National website.
Don’t Have An Event, Want To Create One...Helpful hints:
1. Decide what type of event you wish to host and sanction. The AAU offers sanctions in the following event categories: National, Regional and District Championships, Invitationals, Leagues, Tournaments, Clinics, Meets, Sports Festivals and more. 2. The AAU recommends beginning the planning process at least 180 days prior to the event. 3. Finalize plans with your facility of choice before applying for a sanction. 4. Make sure you have an adequate number of qualified officials, volunteers, and staff. 5. Develop the appropriate entry material for your event which includes, (but is not limited to) the following: Cover Letter, General Information and Rules, Sign-Up Sheet, Entry Fee, AAU membership information, etc. 6. Distribute entry materials to potential coaches and participants. 7. Contact the National AAU sports manager for assistance in promoting your event. 8. Remember everyone participating in your event must be an AAU member. 9. Apply for the following:
Club Membership (as a Level 2 or Level 3)
Individual Membership
Event Sanction
Third Party Insurance Certificate (if Needed)
AAU medals, banners and ribbons
